The next INAR seminar will be on Wednesday 28th February at 14:15 in Physicum E204. The seminar will be given by Dr Thomas Toniazzo, from the Bjerkness Centre for Climate Research, Bergen, Norway and the title of the seminar is "Aquaplanet simulations as a tool to increase our ignorance of Earth's climate". The abstract is below.
Aquaplanet simulations as a tool to increase our ignorance of Earth's climate
Dr Thomas Toniazzo,
The dynamics of the Hadley circulation and its sensitivity to global warming are studied with numerical experiments in simplified configuration. These uncover some of the many uncertainties in our understanding of the global circulation and of its response to warming. The importance of sub-tropical feedbacks is highlighted.
