MSc Petri Kiuru will defend his PhD thesis on physics (University of Jyväskylä, Department of Physics) entitled ‘Modelling CO2 emissions from boreal lakes in present and future’ on 19 June 2019, starting at noon. The defense takes place in Ylistönrinne campus, lecture hall YAA303 (address Survontie 9 D, Jyväskylä). His opponent is professor (meteorology) Anna Rutgersson (Uppsala University, Sweden) and custos professor Markku Kataja (University of Jyväskylä). Supervisors have been Timo Huttula (emeritus, SYKE) and Anne Ojala (INAR, University of Helsinki). The thesis is based on data from lakes Valkea-Kotinen (Lammi) and Kuivajärvi (Hyytiälä).
