SMEAR data policy follows international observation system –initiatives (e.g. GEOSS) and international data sharing principles to universal and equitable access to quality-assured scientific data and data services, products, and information across a range of disciplines (ICSU – The World Data System, WDS). The SMEAR ideology emphasizes the aim of full and open exchange of SMEAR data and metadata. SMEAR elaborated data products will be made available with minimum time delay and at minimum and whenever possible no-costs.
