A mirage as seen in Helsinki, Finland, in May 1999. The photo shows a distorted image of a ferry in the horizon. The mirage is caused by a vertical refractive index gradient above the cold sea water of the Gulf of Finland. This shot was taken with 500 mm lens without support, so it may be slightly shaken.
