{"id":1340,"date":"2025-04-22T04:32:27","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T04:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.atm.helsinki.fi\/cluvex\/?p=1340"},"modified":"2025-04-22T04:32:28","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T04:32:28","slug":"cluvex-round-table-discussions-at-the-conference-on-climate-services-science-and-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.atm.helsinki.fi\/cluvex\/?p=1340","title":{"rendered":"CLUVEX Round Table discussions at the conference on \u201cClimate Services: Science and Education\u201d \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The CLUVEX project Round Table (RT) discussion on \u201cFostering Climate Change Awareness and Cultivating Green Skills Among Youth for a Sustainable Future\u201d took place on 16th April 2025 during the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> International Research-To-Practice Conference on \u201cClimate Services: Science and Education\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/cs2025.onu.edu.ua\">https:\/\/cs2025.onu.edu.ua<\/a>; Odessa, Ukraine).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RT (about 2h of presentations and discussions) was arranged and hosted by the Mechnikov Odessa National University (ONU, Ukraine) for teachers, researchers, experts, and students at all levels of education who are interested in virtual exchanges (the CLUVEX Virtual Exchange Week, VE Week) for learning and discussing the latest scientific knowledge on climate change from multidisciplinary perspectives: natural sciences, social sciences and the arts. In total, 33 persons (20 online and 13 onsite) attended the RT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the CLUVEX RT, a series of oral presentations was delivered by the Univ Helsinki (UH, Finland), the ONU), and the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK, Ukraine)&nbsp; team members and included: Overview of the CLUVEX project \u2013 by Hanna Lappalainen (UH);&nbsp; Guidebooks on Virtual Exchanges (VEG), Climate Literacy (CLG), and Climate Messenger Code of Conduct (CMC) \u2013 by Valeria Ovcharuk (ONU); Sumup about the CLUVEX Trainings-for-Moderators \u2013 by Olga Shevchenko (TSNUK); Summary about the moderators\u2019 involvement in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Virtual Exchange (VE) Week for students \u2013 by Laura Riuttanen (UH), and Summary about the students\u2019 involvement in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> VE Week \u2013 by Aleksi Vauhkonen (UH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Call-for-Students to attend the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> VE Week (12-16 May 2025) was announced and promoted among the participants of the RT. Participants of the RT plan to share announcement with students of their own as well as collaborating Universities. The Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University (BTNAU) showed interest to join CLUVEX as Associated Member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several Ukrainian participants \u2013 Nataliia Bulat, Mykyta Rozvod, Valeriay Ovcharuk and Inna Khomenko \u2013 shared their personal experiences in moderating groups of students online during the 1<sup>st<\/sup> VE Week (in Oct 2024).
