The 3rd<\/sup> training for moderators participating in the 5th Virtual Exchange Week (VE Week; 20-24 April 2026) for students was carried out on 13 April 2026. In total, 18 participants attended online the training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this training the focus was on orientation for the 5th VE Week and questions\/ answers. It started from the welcome words, status\/ update check on registered moderators and students, moderators\u2019 expectations questionnaire, get-to-know activity in Zoom (in break-out-rooms), moderators\u2019 credits and certificates after the VE Week completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current status is that for the 5th VE Week, the 33 (of 60 registered) persons confirmed that they will attend and act as the moderators. The 626 students have already pre-registered (the final deadline was on 10 April 2026) to participate in the 5th VE Week. The 278 students completed their registration in the DigiCampus area for students. The hosts of the upcoming 5th VE Week will be Anton Syvenko (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, TSNUK, Ukraine) and Ruzan Habetyan (Yerevan State University, YSU, Armenia). Colleagues from the University of Helsinki \u2013 Mikko Kulmala (Zoom technical host), Aleksi Vauhkonen (administration of students in DigiCampus), Julia Karhumaa (Climate Horizon exercise), Laura Riuttanen, Hanna Lappalinen, and Alexander Mahura (other support).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VE Week programme (day-by-day) schedule was repeated for the moderators. The capabilities of the Miro-board for the groups of students were also demonstrated and recommended to \u201cplay\u201d (how to add information to the board, how to use sticky notes, how to draw, how to use all available options on the board).  The participants of the training answered on questionnaire \u201cModerators basic information and expectations\u201d related questions on motivation, proficiency with technology, expectations about social interaction, challenges and feedback. Then, the moderators got into break-out-rooms for practicing on get-to-know activity. Finally, the credits for moderators were explained in more details. All these activities were followed by questions from the participants and answers from the CLUVEX University Helsinki team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
