The 1st day, 20th<\/sup> April 2026, of the CLUVEX 5th<\/sup> Virtual Exchange (VE) Week successfully completed. It is held from 20th<\/sup> to 24th<\/sup> April 2026. The VE Week is hosted by Anton Syvenko (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, TSNUK, Ukraine) and Ruzan Habetyan (Yerevan State University, YSU, Armenia). A total of  430 students and other professionals have registered for the VE Week on the DigiCampus platform for students (632 students as pre-registered). The three CLUVEX trainings \u201cModerators-Get-Together\u201d were caried out during March-April 2026 (TR1 \u2013 on 30 March, TR2 \u2013 on 8 April, and TR#3 \u2013 on 13 April). In total, 60 moderators have registered for the VE Week on the DigiCampus platform for moderators, 33 confirmed their participation in VE Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 20th<\/sup> April, on the opening day, 274 participants attended the VE Week in Zoom. The majority (76%) of participating students were from Ukraine. The remaining participants are from Finland, Armenia, and Denmark (8% in total) well as also some students attended from outside the CLUVEX Partners\u2019 countries as others (about 16%) from Argentina, Canada, China, Ecuador, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, South Africa, The Netherlands, Zimbabwe, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Majority of students (69%) are earning\/or earned Bachelor\u2019s degree, 13% – Master\u2019s students, 6% – PhD students, 3% – PostDocs, and 8% – others. The 31% of participants have background in natural sciences, 27% – social and humanitarian, 14% – economical, 3% – art sciences background as well as 24% – in other fields such as architecture, archaeology,  medicine, tourism and recreation, ecology, hydrology, law and jurisprudence, economics and environmental law, philology, diplomacy and international relations, management; biosystems, thermal and electrical engineering; geography, geology, sustainable development, marketing and public administration, digital technologies, urban studies, political science, renewable energy and energy systems, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VE Week was opened with Welcome words from the hosts, and short introductions into the CLUVEX project and the Climate Horizon exercise. The plenary session was opened with the invited presentation of Prof. Antti Rajala, University of Helsinki, titled \u201cTowards Sustainable Future Utopia: Utopian Pedagogy<\/em>\u201d, and it was followed by other lectures such as \u201cImpacts of Climate Change and Future Outlook<\/em>\u201d by Prof. Hasmik Movsesyan, Yerevan State University (YSU), Armenia; \u201cClimate Change, Disasters, Carbon-neutrality and UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/em>\u201d by Prof. Alexander Baklanov, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Denmark; and \u201cArtistic Research and Critical Thinking at the Intersection of Art, Science and Society<\/em>\u201d by Yvonne Billimore, Bioart Society, Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the plenary session with lectures, the VE Week participants also online met each other for the first time in small groups (in total of 28 small groups of 1 moderator plus up to 10 students) in zoom break-out-rooms. In these rooms, each group had a round table introduction of participants, followed by discussions on: what we have learned from lectures delivered? what we can learn from each other? and initial steps in developing Personal\/Individual and Collaborative\/Joint Climate Horizon exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
