{"id":105,"date":"2024-04-29T07:29:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T07:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.atm.helsinki.fi\/icupe_wp\/?page_id=105"},"modified":"2024-04-29T07:29:50","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T07:29:50","slug":"wp-1","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.atm.helsinki.fi\/icupe\/?page_id=105","title":{"rendered":"WP 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ground-based component for SLCFs<br><\/strong>Lead: Andreas Massling, AU<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of this WP are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>to develop a comprehensive data set on in-situ concentration of SLCF, column integrated parameters and<br>particularly black carbon impacts on snow optical characteristics,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to plan future field study activities in Arctic areas and promote synergetic effects so that their interactions<br>will be most sufficient to create and transfer new knowledge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to pilot near-real time delivery (NRT) from Arctic observation site,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to facilitate integration and harmonization of existing data sets and data streams,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to address observational gaps, in particular in relation to polar night measurements and effects of pollution<br>on surface albedo and on radiative budget,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to perform comprehensive aerosol source apportionment particularly for the organic aerosols.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tasks, related deliverables and milestones of&nbsp; WP 1:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Task 1.1<strong> Integration of observations provided by research infrastructures and networks<\/strong> (lead: Vito Vitale, CNR), divided into:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Task 1.1a<strong> Integration of ground-based in-situ observations<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Task 1.1b<strong> Integration of regular columnar observations<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Task 1.1c<strong> Integration of observations on surface properties<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D 1.1.1 Report on&nbsp;discussing availability and constraints for Arctic data sets and data streams presenting<br>protocols and procedures to harmonize and integrate data for an operational use in GEO and COPERNICUS<br>including discussion on long-term sustainability implications and needs (M30)&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D 1.1.2&nbsp;Dataset on selected species (ground-based measurements) as e.g. particle number, black carbon<\/em><br><em>mass and ozone concentration in a standardized format (M20)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D 1.1.3&nbsp;A collection of harmonized measurements and data of the snow spectral reflectance delivered to<\/em><br><em>WP5 (M24)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>M 1.1.1&nbsp;Compilation of existing research infrastructures, networks, monitoring programs and corresponding<br>relevant data sets and data streams on Arctic SLCFs for iCUPE targeted to data and data stream<br>harmonization (M14)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>M 1.1.2 Compilation of existing observations on surface properties in polar areas including remote sensing<br>techniques and surface snow sampling. (M18)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Task 1.2<strong> Improvement of data flow of near-real-time data from in-situ measurement stations<\/strong> (lead: Konstantinos Eleftheriadis, NCSR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D 1.2.1 A pilot dataset on selected parameters of available NRT data of Arctic Research Infrastructures (M22)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>M 1.2.1&nbsp;Overview of the current status of Arctic NRT measurements, including NEXTGEOSS and CAMS<br>84 projects (M14)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Task 1.3<strong> Interactions with planned intensive observations in the polar regions<\/strong> (lead: Birgit Wehner, TROPOS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D 1.3.1 Web-page as communication platform for upcoming polar activities to increase extensive cooperations within the polar community assuring the highest synergy between the objectives of the forthcoming studies (M18)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D 1.3.2 Integrated data collection&nbsp;of Arctic parameters received via ground-based remote sensing and airborne platforms for submission to WP5 (M21).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>M 1.3.1&nbsp;Plan on future data flow of campaign-vise selected Arctic data sets, their sustainable storage, data<br>harmonization and integration in existing data policies.
