The conference addressed the scientific basis of Climate Change in the region, its various impacts and challenges, mitigation\/adaptation strategies, policy challenges and governance. The Conference was preceded by two days of Scientific Workshops focused on modelling predictions of Climate Change and its impacts \u2013 especially in the areas of sustainability, energy, health, agriculture, water security and migration \u2013 as well as examine and propose mitigation and adaptation strategies. In the Workshop Dr. Hanna Lappalainen gave a presentation of PEEX as an example of high impact research network. INAR\/University of Helsinki is participating the EU Teaming project coordinated by Cypros Inst. and is interested in developing\u00a0<a href=\"\/peexold\/..\/globalsmear\/\">SMEAR<\/a>\u00a0type station in Cypros.
