UCAWS will have a focus on research in the field of Urban climate, Urban Air Quality, Social Urban Studies, Urban Ecology associated with the Arctic region.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong><u>Tentative topics of UCAWS-2022<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Lectures:<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Climate change in Arctic region<\/li>\n<li>Urban climate research in Arctic cities<\/li>\n<li>Urban ecology in the Arctic<\/li>\n<li>Economic and social problems of the urbanized regions of the Arctic<\/li>\n<li>Arctic climate change and cryosphere<\/li>\n<li>Air Quality in Arctic region<\/li>\n<li>Changing environment and infectious diseases in the Arctic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>Practical exercises:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Linux-based applications and technologies for Earth Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Using Matlab in Atmospheric Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Using Python in Atmospheric Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Using R in Atmospheric Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Using Thermal comfort applications for urbanized regions<\/li>\n<li>WRF modeling system for Arctic regions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>The Training School program will be complemented by the lectures of senior scientists and experts in the field of Arctic research.<\/div>\n<div><strong>UCAWS-2022 will take place entirely online for participants<\/strong> due to the continuing risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting restrictions on international travel. However, organizers will chair Training Course directly from the Kola Peninsula.
