<\/span><\/div>The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST;\u00a0https:\/\/www.cost.eu<\/a>) is a funding organisation for research and innovation networks. COST Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in any science and technology field by sharing them with their peers. COST Actions are bottom-up networks with a duration of 4 years that boost research, innovation and careers.<\/p>\n COST creates open spaces where people and ideas can grow, and COST funds interdisciplinary research networks called COST Actions. These Actions bring together researchers, innovators and other professionals including industry specialists, who are based in Europe and beyond, to collaborate on research topics for a period of 4 years.<\/p>\n The funding a COST Action receives covers the expenses of networking activities rather than research. The COST funding is used to organise events, short-term scientific missions, training schools, communication activities, and virtual networking tools.<\/p>\n According to statistics at glance (referring to year of 2024), 252 actions are running, with about 60000 researchers involved, 2155 short-term scientific missions, and 264 training schools. In 2025 additionally 70 new COST Actions got funding.<\/p>\n The estimated funding for the first year is 125 K\u20ac and on average 150 K\u20ac per year for following 3 years.<\/p>\n Deadline is 21 October 2025, 12:00 CEST.<\/p>\n Funding research networking through COST Actions translate to many other diverse benefits for researchers and for research and innovation sector more broadly (scientific, networking, mobility and visibility, career opportunities, financial support; see more details at\u00a0https:\/\/www.cost.eu\/what-do-we-fund<\/a>).<\/p>\n Universities, public and private institutions, NGOs, industry and SMEs can participate in the COST Actions, as well as participants can be at any stage of their career.
