The 10th High Latitude Dust (HLD) Workshop will take place in a hybrid format during 11-12 February 2026 in Reykjavik, Iceland. Its focus is on in-situ measurements, remote sensing, modelling, long-range transport, and impacts of HLD and low-latitude dust in the Arctic, with emphasis on the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service session (CAMS) in Iceland with experts from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Sand and Dust Storms Warning Advisory and Assessment (SDS WAS). The 2nd Dust-art exhibition is also at the venue, which will allow to discover the innovative fusion of science and art, showcasing works created with natural dust materials.<\/p>\n

This interdisciplinary workshop will share results from: (1) High Latitude Dust (HLD,\u00a0thereafter, dust<\/strong>) field measurements; (2) Processes leading to dust suspension; (3) Identification and mapping of dust sources; (4) Long-range transport of dust and Saharan dust towards the Arctic; (5) Impacts of impurities on the cryosphere, and (6) Role of aerosols in high-latitude environments.<\/p>\n

Workshop key topics are: (1) Observing effects and extremes of dust; (2) Sources of dust; (3) Modelling and forecasting dust; (4) Satellite detection of dust; (5) Dust and climate change; (6) Relevance of dust for society and users; (7) Arctic aerosols and air pollution (e.g., black carbon, volcanic and wildfire emissions, pollen, firework emissions, microplastics, etc); (8) CAMS and user needs in Iceland; and (9) Dust and aerosol in art.<\/p>\n

Deadline for on-site registration: 20 January 2026.<\/strong>
\nSubmit tentative titles: by 27 January 2026, specifying preference for oral\/poster presentation and online\/onsite participation.<\/p>\n
