It started with welcome words from the coordinators Drs. Hanna K. Lappalainen and Svyatoslav Tyuryakov and with invited introductory presentation about the University of Helsinki (UH) and the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) by Prof. Tuukka Petäjä, the INAR Director. These followed by presentations about the ClimEd project overview, its achievements and challenges; sharing key results and contributions to the project from work packages (WPs) on Data collection and analysis (WP1), Research-and-education platform (WP2), Staff training (WP5), Development of courses (WP3), Piloting of courses (WP4), Quality management (WP6), Dissemination and sustainability (WP7), and Management (WP8). After WPs presentations, the information, impacts, and success stories (overall performance, institutional and national impact, key changes, stakeholder benefits) and sustainability vision (continued use of results and long-term value) were sheared and discussed among the participants.

In a short sumup, the ClimEd project achieved the following: (1) ClimEd Moodle – deployed, classrooms and IT equipment – procured; (2) 455 training participations (134 onsite); (3) 49 new courses – 7 PhD, 16 MSc, 25 professional development , and 1 MOOC; (4) piloted courses in Ukraine during 2025-2026 – at 16 Universities, and 26 sectoral stakeholders; (5) 780+ learners – 360+ students, 240+ professionals, 180+ general public; (6) in total 7 ClimEd trainings (gaining 54 learning outcomes/ skills) attended 368 persons (81 onsite).

On 12th May 2026, the focus was on the ClimEd project implementation, cooperation and sustainability. Participants from European countries and especially from Ukraine reported and discussed (moderated by the coordinator): (1) relevance of the project results (key achievements at institutional, national and regional level; alignment with policies and institutional strategies; and changes affecting relevance and responses); (2) regional cooperation and partnerships (contribution to regional integration and cooperation; inter-institutional agreements and collaboration); (3) quality of project implementation (activities, outputs and deviations; quality assurance and equipment; curriculum development and training; and governance and links with society). The invited talk by Prof. Mikhail Sofiev (FMI) about overview of SILAM (System for integrated modelling of atmospheric composition) model capabilities in application to Ukraine was followed by questions and answers. After invited talk the reporting and discussions continued on (4) quality of cooperation and partnership (partner involvement and collaboration; stakeholder engagement; and grant management challenges); (5) impact, dissemination and sustainability as implementation perspective (structured presentation of impact at institutional, national and system level; dissemination and visibility; continued use of results such as concrete measures, multiplier effect, links with non-university partners; and unexpected outcomes/ spin-off effects); (6) final implementation check and next steps (status of deliverables; project closure timeline; and responsibilities and internal deadlines). All these reportings were discussed and gradually integrated into different sections of the ClimEd final report to EU.

On 13th May 2026, the focus was on the ClimEd reporting alignment, future plans and closure.
