Join the Una Europa Virtual Exchange for Sustainability (UnaVEx)!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The student call for the next UnaVEx virtual exchange opens on <strong>15 September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UnaVEx is a <strong>multidisciplinary and intercultural online exchange<\/strong> that brings together university students from Europe and Africa to explore sustainability and the future of our shared planet. No previous studies in sustainability or natural sciences are required \u2013 the programme is open to students from a wide range of disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Explore sustainability from different perspectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the five-session virtual exchange, participants will explore topics including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduction to sustainability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Climate change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biodiversity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political economy and sustainability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arts and sustainability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme combines <strong>inspiring plenary talks<\/strong> with interactive work in international small groups. Participants will meet peers and a moderator from different countries and disciplines and work together on a <strong>collaborative sustainability-themed action task<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UnaVEx provides an opportunity to develop your understanding of sustainability while gaining experience in <strong>international, multidisciplinary and intercultural collaboration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Two virtual exchange editions in November\u2013December 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students can choose between two editions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Virtual Exchange Edition 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>17 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>18 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>19 November 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Virtual Exchange Edition 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>24 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>25 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>26 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 December 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 December 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All sessions take place online via <strong>Zoom<\/strong> and last a maximum of three hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Session times:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Helsinki:<\/strong> 15:00\u201318:00 (EET, UTC+2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brussels &amp; Bologna:<\/strong> 14:00\u201317:00 (CET, UTC+1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kinshasa:<\/strong> 14:00\u201317:00 (WAT, UTC+1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Johannesburg:<\/strong> 15:00\u201318:00 (SAST, UTC+2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nairobi:<\/strong> 16:00\u201319:00 (EAT, UTC+3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Earn ECTS and a certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation in the UnaVEx virtual exchange awards <strong>1 ECTS via the University of Helsinki Open University<\/strong>, together with a certificate of participation that can be added to your CV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UnaVEx also builds on the <strong>Introduction to Sustainability (3 ECTS) MOOC<\/strong>.
