Description of EC flux sites

Lake Kuivajärvi

(Contact persons:Ivan Mammarella, Sami Haapanala, Timo Vesala)
Lake Kuivajärvi is located close to the SMEAR II field station in Hyytiälä, Southern Finland. The measurement site was set-up already in summer 2009 and the lake is currently under intensive field studies. Fluxes of carbon dioxide, water vapor, heat and momentum are currently measured on a raft with the eddy covariance technique. The EC system is located at 1.5 m height above the water surface. Three-axis sonic anemometer (Metek USA-1) is used for measuring the three wind components and air temperature, while Fast sampling of CO2 and H2O concentration are currently performed by the enclosed-path gas analyzer Licor 7200.
