Project Description

The 7th International Conference on Countermeasures to Urban Heat Islands (IC2UHI-2026) to be held in Nanjing, China during 22-25 September 2026. The IC2UHI is a global platform for sharing knowledge and solutions to one of the most pressing urban environmental challenges of our time. The event is gathering experts and stakeholders from diverse fields to explore innovative strategies for mitigating urban heat island (UHI) effects.
People continue to face the growing challenges posed by UHIs, and it is clear that an interdisciplinary framework is essential here. This approach should integrate insights from diverse fields such as energy, health, building design, urban planning, air quality management, and human studies. More comprehensive and effective solutions can be developed by considering the synergies between these disciplines.
The Conference focus is on the science, design, engineering, and public policies related to the interdisciplinary nature of effectively addressing UHI challenges. The scientists, academics, engineers, architects, builders, policymakers, and government officials from around the world are invited to come together and share their insights, research findings, and real-world experiences in tackling UHIs.
The IC2UHI-2026 will cover a wide range of themes, ensuring that the discussions reflect the most recent advancements and evidence-based strategies for mitigating UHI effects. The diverse nature of the conference topics will help broaden the scope of knowledge and inspire new approaches to designing more sustainable, resilient, and liveable cities.
