Project Description

The Erasmus+ ClimEd project is arranging the 5th training (onsite/ hybrid, 30 September – 4 October 2024, Estonia) on Blended/ Online Learning for Climate Change: Bridging Theory, Technology, and Practical Application. The ClimEd Trainings are focused on training the faculty staff at the ClimEd partner institutions in advanced educational and information-and-communication technologies for building a flexible multi-level integrated practice-based education system in the field of Climate Services, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.

The 5 days programme of the training is the following:

Day 1: Foundations of Climate Education and Technology Integration (B1)

The 1st day is focused on the foundational understanding of climate education within the context of advanced educational technologies. Participants will explore the intersection of climate policy, objectives, and their broader implications, with a particular focus on how blended and online learning technologies can enhance teaching effectiveness in these critical areas.

Day 2:  Designing Engaging Blended Learning Experiences for Climate Topics  (B2)

The 2nd day is dedicated to designing engaging blended learning experiences specifically for climate topics. Through practical workshops, participants will learn how to create and implement effective blended learning strategies that incorporate both online and traditional educational methods. Key sessions include a practical workshop on designing engaging learning experiences and group work on planning blended learning modules for climate topics.

Day 3: Developing and Assessing Online Exams for Climate Education (B3)

The 3rd day is focused on mastering Moodle for creating online exam questionnaires to arm educators with the expertise to design, deliver, and assess blended learning experiences.

Day 4: Advancing Climate Education through Online Platforms (B4)

The 4th day is focused on building directly the prior day’s exploration of blended learning, Module B4 is devoted to reinforcing and showcasing these strategies through participant presentations. Educators will present their developed modules, reflecting on the design and potential impact of their blended learning projects. This day will focus on critical review, collaborative feedback, and discussion on the practical deployment of online tools to enhance climate education.

Day 5: Training Conclusion (B5)

The 5th day focus in on conclusion of the 5th training with the fieldtrip to Lahemaa National Park.
