The Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR) marking a decade of impactful collaboration and innovation through the Science Program. In celebration of this milestone, DBAR is pleased to announce the 9th Digital Belt and Road Conference 2025, to be held in Chengdu, China during 8-11 June 2025. The theme of the upcoming conference is “Sustainable Transformation through Digital Sciences”. This event will bring together scientists, engineers, policy-makers, experts, and stakeholders from across the globe to deliberate on pioneering pathways to accelerate global and regional sustainable development through innovative application of emerging digital technologies.

This conference will showcase research and work dedicated to the innovative use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced digital methods, emphasizing the need for global collaboration and strategic foresight to drive sustainable progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference will also organize events to attract focus on ideas, solutions, and mechanisms to ensure that global progress is sustained in long term as we near the 2030 deadline, with plans to support efforts and growth beyond 2030.

This conference will therefore serve as a unique platform for multi-stakeholder engagement, focusing on the latest digital innovations that drive SDG progress, improve decision-making systems, and strengthen informed policy.

The conference programme includes a series of sessions (DBAR foci) on Agriculture and Food Security, Big Earth Data, Disaster Risk Reduction, Environmental Change, Natural and Cultural Heritage, Urban Environment, Water, Coastal Zone, High Mountain and Cold Regions, and Southeast Asia, as well as  special sessions on Big Earth Data for Global Environmental Sustainable Development Goals & Digital Sciences for Sustainable Development.
