Welcome to the 20th anniversary of our annual conference – Arctic Frontiers 2026: Turn of the Tide. The conference will take place from February 2-5th 2026 in Tromsø, Norway. The title of the conference underscores the ebb and flow of the world, and the time for change. In this moment of opportunity, participants are invited to reflect on the rhythms of global change and their implications for the pan-Arctic region.
At the conference will be seven science themes. These represent the latest developments in Arctic research and span the physical and social sciences, as well as technological developments and innovative methods.
Science themes:
1. Monitoring, Modelling, and Mitigating the Consequences of Arctic Permafrost Change 2. Maritime Extremes: Communication, Uncertainty and Emerging Technologies 3. High Tide for Arctic Preparedness 4. Governance and Policy for Sustainable Space Activities 5. Ocean Observational Pyramid: From Seabed to Space Monitoring 6. Maintaining and Developing Arctic Observing Capabilities 7. Arctic Transformation: Climate Change and Cumulative Effects on Ecosystems
The abstract submission period will open on 4th August 2025.
The deadline is 27th September 2025.
