Project Description

On September 9–11, 2025, the Steering Committee meeting of the ERASMUS+ KA2 project “Multilevel Local, Nation- and Regionwide Education and Training in Climate Services, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation – ClimEd” took place at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, University of Helsinki 🇫🇮.

- The meeting was officially opened by Dr. Docent Hanna Lappalainen, Project Coordinator, Pan-Eurasian Experiment Program, Secretary General of the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR), University of Helsinki, and Svyatoslav Tyuryakov, Project Manager, Finnish Meteorological Institute.

- They warmly welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of achieving the project’s goals in developing a climate services system in Ukraine — supporting climate change adaptation, mitigation of impacts, and the sustainable post-war recovery of the country.

- During the meeting, project partners presented updates on the implementation of work packages, discussed key priorities for the upcoming year, and reviewed the progress of the project. This included detailed discussions on the development and implementation of professional training courses, as well as courses for Master’s and PhD programs:

- Master’s program and PhD program in Climate Services

- Master’s program in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
Partners also addressed quality assessment of project outputs, dissemination and exploitation of results, exchanged experiences, identified challenges, and agreed on recommendations to enhance the effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of the ClimEd project. Overall, the meeting strengthened collaboration among partners and set the stage for the successful continuation and completion of the ClimEd project
