Project Description

The Erasmus+ ClimEd project “Multilevel Local, Nation- and Regionwide Education and Training in Climate Services, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation” (2021-2026; http://climed.network) completed all planned seven trainings (TR#) which are listed below. In general, the trainings gave to participants a possibility to obtain a large variety of important and useful skills, competencies, and learning outcomes (LOs, in total – 54). About 370 persons attended these trainings, with the largest number of participants (79) for the last training TR#7. The ClimEd project trainings were focused on training the faculty/ teaching/ research staff and postgraduates at the ClimEd partner institutions and collaborating organizations in advanced educational and information-and-communication technologies for building a flexible multi-level integrated practice-based education system in the field of Climate Services, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.
The CimEd trainings were organized in a way that at start, the focus was on development programme with specific focus of training; then, announcement of the training and opening web-page (at http://climed.network/events/climed-trainings); arranging web-applications/ evaluation/ informing and assigning successful applicants to groups/ granting access to Moodle system; carrying out the training event (lectures, home-work-assignments as group’s projects, presentations/ defences) and lecturing materials (slides & videos) asap are publicly available at web-page of the training; evaluation of group’s presentations (by lecturers & organizing committee) and awarding certificates; e-evaluation of the training as event and evaluation (self-evaluation) of own (participants) achievements as learning outcomes, skills, and competencies; self-evaluation (by ClimEd project) of the completed training.
Each ClimEd training allowed participants to obtain important and valuable learning outcomes (LOs). In particular,
Tr#1 (10 LOs): Competency-based approach to curriculum development for climate education;
Tr#2 (5 LOs): Adaptation of the competency framework for climate services to conditions of Ukraine;
Tr#3 (12 LOs): Digital tools and datasets for climate change education;
Tr#4 (7 LOs): Developing learning courses in climate services considering needs of different users;
Tr#5 (5 LOs): Applying different technologies of blended/online learning in education;
Tr#6 (6 LOs): Mastering technologies of MOOCs development for general public; and
Tr#7 (9 LOs): Developing skills to use climatic information and services for various climate-dependent branches of economy.
