January 2022 – Urban Climate and Air Quality Winter School (UCAWS-2022)

The Pan-Euroasian Experiment (PEEX) jointly with the Moscow and Tyumen State Universities, Kola Science Center, Russian Geographical Society are co-organizing the International Online Training School for young scientists – Urban Climate and Air Quality Winter School (UCASWS) – to be held during 17-23 January 2022.

UCAWS will have a focus on research in the field of Urban climate, Urban Air Quality, Social Urban Studies, Urban Ecology associated with the Arctic region. The lectures include the following topics: climate change, cryosphere, air quality, urban ecology, changing environment and infectious diseases in the Arctic regions; urban climate research in Arctic cities; economic and social problems of the urbanized regions of the Arctic.
Practical exercises at School include Linux-based applications and technologies for Earth Sciences; using Matlab, Python, R in Atmospheric Sciences; using thermal comfort applications for urbanized regions; and WRF modelling system for Arctic regions. The School is worth 3 credits of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
