The Pan-Eurasian EXperiment (PEEX) programme is organizing a hybrid seminar, co-organized with The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). This seminar is planned on 14 April 2026, 10:30 am – 14:00 pm of Helsinki time. This seminar will take place during the Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center (ACCC; https://www.acccflagship.fi) Impact Week during 14-17 April 2026, at the Sofia Cultural Centre, Helsinki, Finland. On the PEEX seminar, Marcelo Knobel, Executive Director of TWAS, will give an introduction to TWAS activities and collaboration opportunities. The seminar will also highlight several major EU Horizon 2020 projects, including “Research Infrastructure Services Reinforcing Air Quality Monitoring Capacities in European Urban and Industrial Areas” (RI-URBANS; https://riurbans.eu)and “Climate Relevant Interactions and Feedbacks: The Key Role of Sea Ice and Snow in the Polar and Global Climate System” (CRiceS; https://www.crices-h2020.eu). In addition, the ongoing Horizon Europe project “Non-CO₂ Forcers and Their Climate, Weather, Air Quality and Health Impacts” (FOCI; https://www.project-foci.eu) will be introduced.
Furthermore, we will present the research and educational activities of PEEX collaborating universities and research institutions, and discuss future collaboration within the framework of climate change and air quality research.
