Project Description

The Lahti University Campus, the University of Helsinki (UH), Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) and the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Department of Computational Engineering are pleased to announce the summer school “Application of AI/ML techniques in Atmospheric Science” during 12-16 Aug 2024 in Lahti, Finland.

The summer school will provide introductory lectures on relevant atmospheric topics and computational methods. Additionally, you will work in small mixed groups with different scientific backgrounds for the hands-on training, covering about half of the course time. Each group will use previously created atmospheric datasets in the exercise to train an end-to-end neural network.

The course will be free of charge, but you must register by 31 May 2024.
For practical reasons, we have to limit the number of participants to 20, and we will inform all selected participants in early June 2024.

More information is available in announcement (pdf)
