Project Description

The sustainable development of the Arctic regions under fast changing climate is built on science based knowledge. However, we currently lack a holistic process understanding of the Arctic and cold regions atmosphere – ocean – terrestrial ecosystems. The “Arena for the gap analysis of the existing Arctic Science Co-Operations (AASCO)” aims to bring the research communities together.

Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) is a multi- and interdisciplinary research unit based in physics, chemistry, meteorology, forest sciences, environmental sciences and social sciences in the University of Helsinki. It performs multiscale research from molecular to global scale and focuses on climate change, air quality, biogeochemical cycles and ecosystem processes.
The “Pan-Eurasian Experiment” study is a multidisciplinary climate change, air quality, environment and research infrastructure program focused on the Northern Eurasian particularly arctic and boreal regions.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F) is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale. The Foundation supports initiatives of public and private organizations, in the fields of research and studies, technological innovation and socially-aware practices.
