Project Description
During HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco vist to Rovaniemi and Värriö on June 6 University of Helsinki hosted discussions related to Arctic research with the University of Lapland and University of the Arctic. HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco met with Rectors Antti Syväjärvi and Sari Lindblom, in Arktikum, Rovaniemi and discussed Arctic science collaboration and Arctic strategies from university perspectives and UArctic’s role as initiator of collaboration project. The Rovaniemi event was chaired by the President of UArctic Lars Kullerud. After the visit in Rovaniemi, the program continued to the Värriö Subarctic Research Station (SMEAR I) of the University of Helsinki. The vist at the station was hosted by Prof. Mikko Sipilä.
Foundation is currently funding the AASCO II project, coordinated by the University of Helsinki and the UH- led, by Academician Markku Kulmala and Docent Hanna Lappalainen, and as a part of UArctic Thematic Arctic Boreal Hub Thematic Network activities
