Promoting Climate Change Awareness and Developing Green Skills Among Youth for a Sustainable Future

On April 16, 2025, from 13:00 to 15:00, within the framework of the Second International Conference “Climate Services: Science and Education”, a roundtable was held on the topic “Promoting Climate Change Awareness and Developing Green Skills Among Youth for a Sustainable Future”, organized under the Erasmus+ Project 101111959 – CLUVEX.

🟢 The event was moderated by the project’s grant coordinator Hanna Lappalainen (University of Helsinki, Finland), project manager at the University of Helsinki Alexander Mahura, and project lead at Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University Valeriya Ovcharuk.

📌 The discussion focused on summarizing the project’s key activities and outcomes.

🔹 The session was opened by Hanna Lappalainen, who outlined the main goals of the project and proposed ways to achieve them.
🔹 The presentations continued with Valeriia Ovcharuk, lead of Work Package 2, who showcased the developed methodological materials and guidelines for educators and moderators.
🔹 Olga Shevchenko (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), lead of Work Package 3, joined the discussion with a summary of the five moderator training sessions held within the project.
🔹 Laura Riuttanen (University of Helsinki) shared her experience in organizing the Virtual Exchange Week.
🔹 The presentation block concluded with Aleksi Vauhkonen (University of Helsinki), who presented the results of a survey conducted among moderators and students following the Virtual Exchange Week.

💬 During the final discussion, participants shared their reflections on the virtual exchange, including representatives from Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National UniversityValeriia Ovcharuk, Nataliia Bulat, Inna Khomenko, and Mykyta Rozvod, as well as Hasmik Movsesyan from Yerevan State University.
