Welcome to the second edition of the Climate University (CU; https://www.climateuniversity.fi) newsletter in 2025. In this edition, you will find information on past and upcoming events, and updates on projects relevant to the Climate University network.

UPCOMING EVENTS: Climate University annual meeting 4.-5.11.2025

Climate University had an eventful spring term

After a long a fairly cold spring, summer is finally here. Spring was busy for the Climate University network. CLIMADEMY final conference took place 31.3.-3.4. in Hyytiälä Forest Station in Juupajoki, Finland. In April the Atmospheric and Climate Change Competence Center (ACCC) organized its 4th Impact Week, during which the Climate University’s annual Action Groups meeting was organized: most of the Action Groups met on site (and some were organised as hybrid meetings) in Kallvik, Vuosaari. Climate University has a new member HEI and a new course

Two major news were launched in April during the Climate University Action Groups meeting: Arcada University of Applied Sciences joined the Climate University network with coordinator Erika Adlercreutz. In addition, a new Climate University course was launched: Sustainable Consumption. Read more on Arcada joining the network and the new course Sustainable Consumption

Climate University courses in autumn 2025

The Climate University courses of autumn 2025 have been published and can be found on the Climate University website. Note that new courses can still be added to the autumn course selection. Check out the courses and their enrolment periods

Save the dates for the CU annual meeting and other sustainability events in Lappeenranta

Save the dates for the Climate University annual meeting organised 4.-5.11.2025 and hosted by LUT, and the other sustainability themed events taking place in Lappeenranta during the first week of November. The programme of the Climate University annual meeting is available on the Climate University blog. Other events taking place during the week include Unifi’s seminar on sustainability and responsibility and “Tieteestä tulevaisuus” seminar focusing on science, sustainability and technology education. The second Cluvex Virtual Exchange week was a success

The second Cluvex Virtual Exchange took place in May, and it was a success gathering daily 130 to 200 participants online to learn and collaborate on climate changed related themes. The next Cluvex Virtual Exchange will be organised 6.-10.10.2025, and the Call for students is open!
