Today we started the moderators’ training for 5th VE Week in April 2026. More than 60 persons have preliminarily registered for the moderators’ training. The 1st training for moderators participating in the 5th Virtual Exchange Week (VE Week; 20-24 April 2026) for students was carried out on 30 March 2026. In total, 23 participants, including 7 new moderators, attended online the training.

During this training, the following was presented: basic information about the CLUVEX project, including info about partners/teams, staff involved, project aims; importance of online learning the future of education; project stages in workflow for VEs and dissemination, upscaling, and networking; approach for the VE Weeks for students; in brief outlined programme; preparatory materials (VEG, CLG, CMC); planned lectures; useful tools for climate related data analysis; work in groups on “Climate Horizon” exercise; learning outcomes and earned bonuses for students participated in VE Week; possibilities to attend the Climate University online courses; what moderators will earn and have after trainings as moderators and moderation during VE Weeks; how to use the DigiCampus area for moderators; how to earn credits for moderators; etc.
These were followed by questions from the participants and answers from the CLUVEX University Helsinki team members.
We will meet with the new moderators 3 times during March-April. The actual 5th Virtual Exchange Week will be held on 20-24 April 2026. Below you will find the meeting dates and topics, as well as the registration links. When you register, you will receive instructions for DigiCampus.

TR2 – 8 Apr 2026 – Intro. to Climate Horizon exercise, Mio-board, web-based tools for climate data analysis
TR3 – 13 Apr 2026 – Orientation for the 5th VE Week, questions/ answers
Participating in training for moderators & acting as moderators during VE Week as you will:
- get an internship certificate related to your studies;
- get up to 3 ECTS credits, issues by the Open University at the University of Helsinki;
- get a possibility to attend online the Climate University selected courses;
- hone your online interaction, pedagogy and language skills in international environment;
- increase your contacts with the CLUVEX network and universities.
The 2nd next training “Moderators-Get-Together” will take place online on 8 April 2026, at 14:00 pm of Helsinki time. The focus of the training is on the “Climate Horizon” exercise, how to use Miro board, examples of Miro-boards from the previous VE Week, division of students in groups, how to work in Zoom e.g. groups and break-out-rooms and testing.
