In January 2024, the Government of Ukraine, through an order issued by the Ministry of Education and Science, resolved to merge Odessa State Environmental University (OSENU) with Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University (ONU). As a result of this merger, all assets, rights, and obligations of OSENU have been transferred to ONU, which will continue to operate as the successor institution.
In June 2024, the merger was completed. OSENU became the Faculty of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Sciences at ONU.
ONU is committed to maintaining and expanding the collaborations initiated by OSENU, including the partnership with the University of Helsinki, and will continue its involvement in the ERASMUS+ CLUVEX project to ensure the successful achievement of its goals and the fulfillment of all related tasks and obligations.
